Divergent Evolution is the type of evolution that ratites undergo. This is because they evolved from a common ancestor and made slight changes along the way. They aren't connected with the other organisms in their environment, they are only connected with each other. In coevolution they evolve with another organism and in convergent evolution they evolve similar traits to other organisms in their habitat. Neither of these methods fit the evolution of the Order Struthioniformes.
